Leif William Hald

Leif William Hansen Hald July 6, 1928 - January 8, 2011 Leif William Hansen Hald, 82, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away January 8, 2011 in Durango Colorado. He was born July 6, 1928 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Leander and Rosa (Hansen) Hald. Leif was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to build anything and everything including six family homes over the years. He was a wonderful example of responsibility and self-reliance and will be greatly missed by all. Leif is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gerda; daughter, Sussie Macas and husband Angel; sons Torlief and wife, Laura, Chris and wife Barbara, Dan and wife, Renee; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 4th floor nurses and aids at San Juan Regional, the staff and nurses at Good Samaritan in Aztec, and the Four Corners Healthcare in Durango, and Dr. Margaret Cassidy for their care and support during Leif’s lengthy illness.
