Leland D Nicholson

Leland D. Nicholson, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in Bloomfield. He was born May 13, 1925 in Plainview, Texas to Dewey Lee and Elna Nicholson. Leland was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, D. L. Nicholson. He is survived by his wife Edna M. (Williams) Nicholson of Bloomfield and son Ronald Lee Rush and wife Teena of Madison, Georgia. He is also survived by his treasured brothers-in-law, Roy M. Williams, Jr. (Betty), Samuel J. Williams, Dennis Williams (Kathy), Joe P. Williams (deceased) (Penny) and sisters-in-law, Ollie Corbett (Alton) and Kay Snead (Michael D.) Leland served in the U. S. Navy during World War II on a troop carrier. He worked in the oil fields of West Texas and New Mexico in the service industry, and his primary hobby was reading about antique cars and the collecting of parts for restoring his 1930 Model “A”.
