Cordova, Lena A.

Adelena Antonia “Lena” Cordova left this world to be with the Lord on January 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Julian and her beloved daughter, Denise. She is survived by her four children, Calvin Cordova and wife Anna, Sandra Taylor and husband Willie, Lynne Cordova and Bobby Cordova. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jennifer, Marcus, Daniel and Sarah Cordova, and Michael Taylor. She leaves two brothers, Dr. Roberto Gallegos and wife Anne, and Lee Gallegos. She was also preceded in death by her parents Elizardo and Geneveva Gallegos and five siblings, Melquiadez, Anselmo, Juanito, Frances and Lena’s namesake, Adelena. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lena was a lifelong educator who taught in schools in northern New Mexico and retired from Albuquerque Public Schools.  

Services will be held at Calvary Chapel 4001 Osuna Rd NE Albuquerque on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2pm. Reception to be held following the services at 300 Menaul Blvd NW Suite 200 Albuquerque. Burial will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9am at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Calvin Cordova, Bobby Cordova, Willie Taylor, Victor Cordova, Mel Gallegos, Don Maestas, Elizandro Herrera, Bill Salazar and Manuel Crespin.
