Lena Platero-Todacheene

LENA PLATERO-TODACHEENE, 96, of Nageezi, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Life Care Center in Farmington. Lena was born July 12, 1912 in rural Nageezi area to Santiago Platero, Sr. and Enginneh. Lena was a rancher and rug weaver and a lifetime, active and faithful member of Dzilnaoodili Bible Church. Lena will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by daughters, Bertha Francisco of Bloomfield, Lydia Harvey of Dzilnaoodilii, Elsie Lewis of Bloomfield, 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Lena was preceded in death by husband Leo Todacheene in 1989. APallbearers are Willard Francisco, Reed Francisco, Anthony Francisco, Dexter Lewis, Darren Harvey and Troy Ellison. Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Edway, George Platero, Andy Platero, George Werito, Danny Platero, Frank Edwards, Harvey Betselie, Willie Yazzie and Alfred Yazzie. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dzilnaoodili Bible Church, 12739 NM Rd. 44, Bloomfield, NM 87413 in Lena's memory. A reception for all family and friends will be held following the service at Dzilnaoodili Bible Church at the Berean Mission.
