Lena G. Sanchez

SANCHEZ - Lena G. Sanchez, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Socorro, NM surrounded by her loving family. Lena was born on May 2, 1926 in Belen, NM to Ruperto and Sylvia (Cordova) Gallegos. She is survived by her loving son, Anthony Sanchez and wife, Annie; her devoted daughters, Angie Ochoa and husband, Guillermo; Dolores Czosnek and husband, Mike; and Anna Chavez and husband, Carlo; one brother, Damacio Gallegos; her sister, Yvonne Anaya; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lena was a resident of Socorro for about 48 years. She and Jose traveled a lot and raised their children from place to place like Nebraska and California. Lena loved to collect knick knacks. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved them to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Mercedes Sanchez, two sons, Jose D. Sanchez; and Norman Manuel Sanchez; her parents; and her two brothers, Leroy Gallegos; and Abe Gallegos. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Socorro Chapel. A Rosary will be recited immediately following also at the Socorro Chapel. A Mass of Resurrection will then take place on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 9:00 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant.
