Lena T Vigil

VIGIL-Lena T. Vigil, 80 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 29th. Born in Torrreon, New Mexico, on September 23, 1929, she was the last surviving member of the Montoya-Torres family. Lena was a long time resident of Albuquerque's North Valley. She was preceded in death by Richard J. Vigil her loving husband of 43 years; her mother Mercedes M. Torres and father Flavio Torres; brothers and sisters, Felicita Lucero, Delia Trujillo, Antonia Garley, Pedro Torres, Lugardita Torres and Cipranita Trujillo. Lena is survived by her son Gerald Vigil and wife Linda, daughter Nadine Padilla and husband Fred, daughter Lorie Cognion and Ed. Grandchildren Steven Padilla and fianc�?© Kim, Justin Vigil and Emma, Diana Padilla, Derrick Cognion, Matthew Cognion, special friend Colton Mighetto and proud great-grandmother to Richard Frank Padilla. Lena was also madrina, t�?­a and Mama Lena to many loving nieces, nephews, and children who over the years were fortunate to have her as a baby sitter and friend. Visitations will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Therese of the Little Flower Church at 9:30 a.m., with Father Chavez as celebrant. Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd. Casket Bearers will be Steve Padilla, Justin Vigil, Diana Padilla, Derrick Cognion, Matthew Cognion and Colton Mighetto.
