Leo Monia was born August 27, 1944 to Adolfo Monia and Asencion Maestas and raised in Northern New Mexico. Leo was preceded in death by his parents and sisters (Clara, Amanda, Terry) and brothers (Gilbert, Joe).
Leo is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosie and their two daughters: Elizabeth and husband Tino Madrid; Mary Ann and husband Art Archibeque; Two Grandchildren Abby Madrid and Mateo Archibeque.
Leo came from a big family with surviving siblings Lucy Rios, Jane Herrera, Helen Nevarez, and Harold Monia. Leo was very close to his Mother-In-Law (Filomena Chavez), he adored his Tio Roy and Tia Romy Saavedra, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law (Manuel and Rose Chavez), (Frances Castaneda). He had many nieces and nephews who he treasured dearly.
Leo went home to the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2019 surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, daddy and tata. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a dedicated employee to Presbyterian Hospital for more than 42 years in the Food Service and Vending department. He enjoyed fishing, working on and restoring old cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
