Leonard Jones

Jones died March 5, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born Sept. 19, 1939, into the Meadow People Clan for the Red Running Into Water People Clan. Jones attended Intermountain Indian School. He retired from JcPenney and other various jobs. His hobbies included listening to Elvis, country and oldies. His trades included being a mechanic, sheet metal, carpentry and electrical. He loved his children, grandchildren and loved to read the bible. Survivors include his wife, Helen B. Jones of Rock Springs; sons, Dean Jones Sr., Anthony Jones, both of Rock Springs, Dave Jones of St. Michaels; daughters, Karen Jones, Katherine Gray, both of Rock Springs, Kathleen Jones of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers, Arthur Jones of Brimhall, Finley Jones of Mescalero, Calvin Jones, Luther Jones, both of Rock Springs; sisters, Alta Long of Georgia, Loretta Jones of Ramah; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Bahe and Daisy Jones; brothers, David Paul Jones, Nathan Jones. Pallbearers will be Dean Jones Sr., Anthony Jones, Dave Jones, Melvin Gray Jr., Kristopher Jones, Dean Jones Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock Springs Chapter House, following services.
