Age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home in Socorro, NM surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Luis Lopez, NM on October 14, 1938, to Manuel and Sofia Saavedra Rosas. Leo was the oldest of 10 children and a 1956 Socorro High School graduate. Leo married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Anderson, on December 20, 1958. He was a kind and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Leo enjoyed just driving, it didn't really matter where he was going. He also enjoyed his trips to the casino. Leo was a devoted family man, strong in his faith and adored his children and grandchildren. He was a business owner in the community that he loved, first opening the Video Tyme in 1990 and owning Sofia's Kitchen for the last 16 years. Leo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Charlene Anderson Rosas; brothers, Elipdio and Anthony Rosas; niece, Consuelo Vigil; sister-in-law, Jerry Mascarenas; and his parents. Leo is survived by his loving children, Rebecca "Becky" Skornia and husband, Sid, Stephen Rosas, and Roberta "Bobbi" Gonzales and husband, Patrick; brothers, Rey Rosas and wife, Tomasita, Henry Rosas and wife, Terry, Lawrence Rosas and wife, Juanita, Jake Rosas and wife, Mary, Raymond Rosas and wife, Grace, Patrick Rosas and wife, Leeann; sister, Lillie Orloff and husband, Kenneth; sister-in-law, Arlene Rosas; brother-in-law, Robert Mascarenas; grandchildren, Melissa Skornia and partner, Tyson, Brian Skornia and wife, Kristen, Samantha Childs and husband, Michael, and Justin  Gonzales and wife, Krista, and Charlene "Charli" Gonzales; great grandchildren, Kaylene Hayes, Megan and Connor Gay, Noah Myer, Trevor and Trenton Skornia, Richard Baker, and Colton Childs and baby Gonzales on the way; and many nephews and nieces.  The Holy Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 9:00 am at San Miguel with Father John Anasiudu as Celebrant. Burial will take place at Luis Lopez Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Brian Skornia, Justin Gonzales, Henry Rosas Jr., Eric Rosas, Ronald Rosas, and Jon Rosas.  Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Padilla, Rey Rosas, Henry Rosas, Lawrence Rosas, Jake Rosas, Raymond Rosas, Patrick Rosas, Patrick Rosas Jr., Gabriel Rosas, Manuel Romero and Antonio Montoya.
