Leroy Ortiz, age 57, a carpenter by trade and enthusiastic craftsman by passion, was called home on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Michele Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Chance Ortiz, Joshua Salazar, Ryan Salazar and Devante Salazar; mother, Elizabeth Ortiz of Bernalillo, NM; father, Ernest Ortiz and wife, Eva of Los Lunas, NM; sisters, Edna and husband, Steve Gurule of Bernalillo, NM; Eileen and husband, Scott Jordan of Albuquerque, NM; Josie and husband, Ed Olona of Albuquerque, NM; 11 nieces; 8 nephews; 18 grandnieces and 14 grandnephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Mario Ortiz, Trampas Ortiz and Ely Ortiz; nephews, Gatlin Ortiz and Jacob Guzman.
Leroy was a devoted, loving, and selfless husband. Words can’t describe Leroy’s love for his wife, he loved her with all his heart and soul. He was deeply loved and will be missed like the desert misses the rain. Leroy's love for his mother and family was unconditional. His joy in life was to give and to make people happy. If you needed help, he was always there for you and if you said you liked something, it instantly became yours. If you knew Leroy, you would know that he was a prankster and surely a victim to one of his pranks. He was truly a character and never failed to keep people from laughing.
Leroy was loved, adored, and cherished by all and will be deeply missed. Until we meet again, on the other side...
