Castillo was born in Winslow, Arizona. Castillo was born into the Water Flow Together Cland and born for the Zia Pueblo People Clan. Castillo graduated from Valley High School. He worked as an iron worker and carpenter. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Castillo was employed with the Navajo Nation Police Department. He enjoyed sports, fishing, hiking, joking and spending time with family. Survivors include his brothers, John Castillo Jr., of Lupton, Arizona, Jim Castillo of Page, Arizona, Jeffrey Castillo, of Mentmore, New Mexico, Ray Castillo of Tse Bonito, New Mexico, Jackson Castillo, of Sawmill, Arizona, Ernest Castillo, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Leonard Castillo, of Lupton, Arizona, Gilbert Castillo, of Kayeta, Arizona; sisters include Nancy Brown, of Lupton, Marilyn Lee of Lupton, Susan Charlie, of Gallup, New Mexico, Irene Castillo, of Albuquerque, Carol Murphy, of Sanders, Arizona, Ruth Hovel, of Chandler, Rita Roan of Lupton, Arizona, Ann Castillo, of Phoenix, Arizona, Clara Castillo, of Phoenix; grandparents, Vera S. Castillo and Jose Nejo. Castillo was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Castillo, John Castillo, Sr.; brothers, Ello Castillo, James Castillo, Wilbur Castillo, and sister, Esther Castillo. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Castillo, Emery Lee, Darryl DeBoise, and Zane Scott. The family will receive relatives and friends at Lupton Chapter House.
