Lilian Cook

On Monday, December 30th, 2013, at the age of 81, Lilian �Lil� Cook (Lilian Lotus Lee) joined Heaven�s choir. She made her home in Albuquerque, NM with Pleas Cook. Unfortunately, Pleas had to go to heaven before Lil to set up the choir chairs. Lil was born December 3rd, 1932 in Sausalito, CA. The proud parents were Frank E. Lee and Eleanor K. Allen Lee. She had an older brother, George Steck, and has another older brother, Allen Steck. As brothers do, they picked on their little sister. Lil stood up for herself though even when her brothers were over 6 feet tall and she was just over 5 feet. Lil loved to sing. She enjoyed traveling around Carmel, CA singing with her high school choir. Lil sang her lungs out when she was with the church choir. Lil worked for a store in their collections department. A job she disliked. Even two days before she passed, the store was mentioned, and she gave an ugly face to all. Lil married her sweetheart, Pleas Cook, whom she met square dancing. Later in life, Lil was ecstatic when she became a Deacon at St Chad's Episcopal Church. Working as a police chaplain was very important to her and satisfying as well. She continued serving God in many ways here on earth up until her last days. Her life here ended with a few whispers of breath. We will miss you. In lieu of flowers, do a good deed to celebrate Lil�s life. Lilian is predeceased by her brother, George Steck (4-04); husband, Pleas Cook. She is survived by brother, Allen Steck; nephews, Michael Steck, Stan Steck, Lee Steck; nieces, Sara Steck, Ricia Steck. Lilian is also survived by stepsons, Martin (Rusty) Cook, Richard (Cindy) Cook, Don (Liz) Cook and many friends and relatives. Interment and memorial services will be held at St. Chad's Episcopal Church at 10:30 am on January 11, 2014.
