Lillie Romero, age 78, a resident of Albuquerque’s South Valley was born April 13, 1941 and passed away Sunday, November 24 surrounded by many family members. Lillie was a life-long member of The Church of Ascension Catholic Church, the Santa Rita followers and a devote follower of Saint Therese of the Little Flower. Lillie deeply loved her family and embraced life. She loved music, listening or singing and she loved to Dance. I’ve heard a story where coming back from Las Vegas Joe and Lillie stopped on the side of the road to dance to some Spanish music they were listening to. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will forever be in our hearts. Lillie is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Ortiz and father, Damacio Maldonado, her three sisters, Flora, Cora and Angela and one son, Daniel Romero. Lillie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Joe Romero and 5 children. Annabelle and her husband Stuart, David called Porfie and his wife Doreen, David and his wife Diane, Donald and his wife Angel and Joseph Romero. Lillie and Joe have 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren whom they love very much.
Services for Lillie will start Friday, December 6th with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Road and a Mass on Saturday, December 7th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a burial at Pajarito Cemetery and a reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
