Lloyd Dee Griffith

February 9, 1939 — February 18, 2009

GRIFFITH- Lloyd Dee Griffith, 70. of Farmington, went to sleep on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, in his home, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 9, 1939, in Portales, NM., to Lonnie Dee Griffith and Laura Jane Lott. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one Sister Ruby Shellnut. He is survived by his lovong wife Diana, during there 48 years together they had five children, Dwayne Griffith the oldest Son from Virginia, their oldest Daughter Lisa Langley of Farmington. Darrell and Deanne Griffith of Farmington. Renee and Mark Baugh of Farmington. Daniel and Natasha Griffith from Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his sisters Wilma Stephens, and Linda Jane Griffith both of McAlester OK, also numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, ans Cousins as well as many friends and workmates whom all loved him very much. Together his children gave him eight grandchildren Andrea and Aaron Langley, Randy and Autumn Griffith, Shelby Baugh, Ian, Paige and London Griffith. Lloyd worked for El Paso Natural Gas from 1965 to 1996. He then retired and missed working so much he went back to work for another 12 years for Dial Oil/Western Refining. Only to leave work once he was diagnosed with cancer. A self proclaimed "workaholic." He loved woodworking, often spending hours in his "shop" working on various "projects", and loved to do things with his grandchildren. Sometimes overheard saying that if he knew that grankids were this much fun, he would have skipped the kids and just had grandkids. If he had to choose between Coke and Pepsi, Pepsi would win everytime. Lloyd also enjoyed camping, fishing, and traeveling (with grandkids). Watching John Wayne westerns and reading his Louis L'amore books was a favorite pasttime. Up until his last days he loved receiving visits from his many friends and workmates, who were always willing to spend time, he would rather stay awake and off of his medication than miss his friends and visitors coming by. Services have been entrusted to: Alternative Choice Cremation and Funeral Service 804 N. Dustin Farmington, NM (505) 326-3671
