Lola Otero

Age 84 passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at RW Hospice House in Albuquerque, NM. While she battled a long medical illness, she was lovingly cared for by her niece Liz Otero, Jose Luna and her great niece Alexis Luna. She resided in San Acacia, NM where she called her home.

She was born in Alamillo, NM to Alisandro and Romanita(Padilla) Otero. Family of nine siblings.

Lola was retired from New Mexico Tech and continued to work after retirement at The Ranchers Club in Socorro, NM.  She loved cooking, for years her home was the center of holiday family gatherings. Her favorite saying was “come and eat”. She enjoyed dancing at family weddings and church fiestas. Lola was a devoted catholic and strong in her faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Sisters Macedonia O. (Maisie) Lesperance, Inez Otero Napoleon, Trini Otero, Mariana Otero Lopez; her brother, Alex Otero, Jr and baby brother and baby sister Ernestina and Freddie.

Lola is survived by her brother Pete Otero, Sister-in-law Grace Otero-Wanger, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Pallbearers are David Romero, Joey Anaya, Andy Lopez, Tony Lopez, Mike Lopez, LJ Otero, Robert Trujillo. Honorary Pallbearers are Lawrence Otero, Harold Lesperance & Luciano Lesperance.

Services held on Tuesday, 28, 2023 at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM

Viewing on Tuesday,28, 2023 from 9:30am-10am

Rosary: 10am-10:30am

Mass: 10:30am-11:30am

Burial: 11:30am-noon at San Acacia Cemetery

Reception to follow at San Miguel Catholic Church Parish Hall in Socorro.
