Lonnie D. Sturdivant, Age 91, went home to be with his Lord on July 5, 2017. Lonnie was born on May 8, 1926 in Hermleigh, Texas. Lonnie served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He worked for Mountain Bell for over 30 years. Lonnie loved his Lord and was very active in ministries of First Christian Church. After he retired he devoted his time to maintenance at the church along with other projects. After he retired, he devoted his time to maintenance at the church along with other projects. He attended church and Bible study regularly, and enjoying the company of his Christians friends. One of Lonnie's special skills involved wood working. He made many items that his family has kept and cherished. Lonnie was a wonderful father to his children and his life blessed many others. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ruth. He is survived by his daughter Deborah and her husband Harry; his son Douglas; his sister Francis Cox; grandchildren Paul Floyd, Kim Sunderland and her husband Gary, and Gail Pace and her husband Ronnie. He also has three great grandchildren Alex, Dakota, and McKayla along with several step-great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:30am, at First Christian Church located at 10101 Montgomery Blvd NE, 87111. Interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
