Lottie M. Seltzer

Seltzer, Lottie  M.
Age 92, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015. She was born in Freeland, PA on May 5, 1923, to Walter and Anna Gorski.  

Lottie graduated from Freeland High School in 1941. She then attended Kings County Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1944 with her Diploma of Nursing. Lottie attended St. Joseph's College of Nursing graduating with her Bachelors of Nursing in 1978. She was a Registered Nurse for 38 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of the NY State Nurses Association and a Union Delegate for the NYSNA for many years.

Lottie's interest were crossword puzzles, mah jong and canasta. Lottie most enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, and often combined the three. In her lifetime, she made several cross country trips with family and friends, stopping off along the way to renew relationships, while seeing every state as well as Canada and Europe. The travel bug was a lifelong adventure and a gift she gave everyone. People fondly recall her visits and time spent exploring. She was a member of the Emergency Department Nurses Association, and the Alumni Association of Kings County Hospital Nursing School. Lottie was a church member of Risen Savior Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Seltzer; parents, Walter and Anna Gorski; brothers, Frank, Anthony, Bernard, Alfred, and Walter Jr.

Lottie is survived by daughter, Sara (David) McBride; son, Samuel (Laurie) Seltzer; grandchildren, Sean and Lauren McBride, Zachary Seltzer, Siobhan Counihan-McGee, and Erin Counihan.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, 11:00 am, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE.

Reception to follow Memorial Service.

Inurnment will take place at Pinelawn Cemetery in Amityville, NY, at a later date.
  
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Lottie 's honor to LOBO Wing of The Commemorative Air Force, PO BOX 20576, Albuquerque, NM.
