Thurgood, Lou Ann Larsen Age 79, born May 26, 1934, passed away on September 6, 2013, only from mortality, but not from eternity. Heaven has gained a noble spirit. She was a mother of four sons and one daughter, a grandmother of sixteen, and a great-grandmother of four. She left a beautiful and loyal legacy. She and her husband, Dr. Blair Walton Thurgood, were married for 57 special years. Their marriage was sealed for eternity on March 12, 1956 in the Logan Utah Temple, a Holy Temple of God. Lou Ann loved serving others through her work as a registered pediatric nurse. In 2012 Lou Ann was able to attend her 60th high school and 57th nursing school reunions in spite of her expanding illnesses. She was not a quitter. Lou Ann served many others through her numerous acts of service as a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed worshipping her Savior by playing sacred hymns on the piano. She taught Seminary classes to church youth for four years. Lou Ann completed three church missions with her husband. In their first mission, they worked among the Navajo Native Americans. For their next mission, they served in the Albuquerque LDS Temple. For their third mission they worked at the Albuquerque LDS Storehouse, spending many hours helping the poor and needy. Lou Anns life was full of love given to family, numerous friends, patients, students and neighbors. Lou Ann had an adventurous spirit and loved exploring the rural areas of New Mexico. During her life, Lou Ann was privileged to travel to many places on this Earth including Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, China, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Israel, Greece, Turkey, France, Germany, Spain, and most of the states in the United States of America with her husband. She loved the beauty and peace she experienced during her numerous visits to Kauai, Hawaii and Pagosa Springs, Colorado, but she especially delighted in visiting the homes of her family.
