TEITELRIS_Louis Teitelris, 67, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009. Our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle was suddenly taken from us. Lou was born March 15, 1942 the son of Abraham and Karoline Hirschman Teitelreis in Warsaw, Poland. He migrated to this country when he was eight with his two younger sisters. They settled in Brooklyn, New York. Lou served his country for six years with the National Guard Active duty. He moved to Rio Rancho in 1976 with his family. Lou retired from the City of Albuquerque Transit after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a volunteer of the Italian American Association as a loyal bingo caller. His hobbies included gardening, and he was an avid chess and poker player. He enjoyed working out at Defined Fitness and talking to many friends he made there. He was always available for his grandchildren. He went to their soccer games, took them to the movies and so much more. A great "papa" who will be missed by many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his son Eric Mark, age 40; his parents, Abraham and Karoline Teitelreis; and his sister, Sara Goldstein. Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Gloria of Rio Rancho; daughter, Rochelle Green and husband Curtis; granddaughters, Kirstin and Ashley; daughter-in-law, Flora James; and grandsons Joshua and Lesleigh; sister, Judy Sorenson and husband Scott; and three nieces.
