Funeral services for Louise S. Bia, 82, were 10 a.m., today, Dec. 3, at Navajo Baptist Church, Navajo. The Rev. Roscoe Smith officiated. Burial was in family cemetery, White Clay. Bia died Nov. 30, 2010, in Gallup. She was born March 24, 1928, in White Clay, into the Near the Water People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan. Bia was a rug weaver and homemaker. She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing cards. Survivors include her sons, Wallace Bia, Wilfred Bia, Ben Bia Jr., Lorenzo Bia, Henry Bia, Vincent Bia; daughters, Pauline Bia, Linda Yazzie, Roselie Chee, Bernice Bia, LaVerne Charley, Sarah A. Nez; brother, Wilson Segay; sisters, Mary S. Lee, Helen Deschine, Loretta Tsinijinnie, Fannie Wilson; numerous grandchildren. Bia was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Bia Sr.; sons, Freddie, Jonah Bia, Raymond Bia. Pallbearers were Ben Mike, Jason Bia, Sterlyn Barber, Lance Bia, Justin Bia, Vincent Bia.
