Lucille “Bernie” Martinez

July 10, 1946 – May 29, 2021

Our beautiful mother went home with the Lord on May 29, 2021. Our hearts will forever have a missing piece. Her infectious love will live on through us all.  She was a faithful parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She is survived by her children: Frank Bernal, Monique Gonzales & husband Tim, Tanya Bernal & Shawn Baker, Bernadette Bernal & Fernando Esquibel. Her wonderful grandchildren: Dontee Ewing, D’Andrea Gonzales, DaeShawn Baker, Timothy Gonzales, Izaiah Bernal, Devyn Esquibel, Taeya Baker, Donovyn Esquibel, Dominique Montoya, Rochelle Tinagero, Krystle Hernandez, Felicia Martinez, Estrella Bernal. Her precious great-grandchildren: DaeShawn Baker Jr., Damarion Ewing, Greyson Tinagero, Emilia Benson-Bernal, Theodore Baca. Her loving sisters: Beatrice & husband Larry Lovato, Dorothy “Lizzie” Connelly & husband Henry, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, the list of those that she has left behind is endless. She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Martinez Sr., Frank Bernal, parents Serafin & Isabel Chavez, sisters Nancy & Gloria Chavez, brother Charlie Chavez and very special nephews Michael, Joey and Levi, and niece Eunique.

A Memorial / Family Visitation will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 PM, Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Masks will be required. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM, Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Participants for the Rosary will be Art and Joanne Trujillo.
