Lucille (Lucy) Garcia

Lucille (Lucy) Garcia, born on May 5, 1951, passed away on February 21, 2025. Lucy attended Albuquerque High School and later married Steve Garcia. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Garcia; her parents, Fred and Josie Gallegos; her son, Louie J. Padilla; and her pet dog, Freddy. 

She is survived by her sister, Patsy Chavez of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter, Laura Padilla of Rio Rancho, NM; her step-daughter, Elizabeth Taylor, and son-in-law, David Taylor, both of Albuquerque, NM. Lucy was also a proud grandmother to Destanie Sena, Robert Arellano, Orlando Arellano, and Ivana Taylor, and she delighted in her great-grandchildren, Avery Rodriguez and Anthony Rodriguez. Her beloved pet dog, Rudy, also remains as part of her legacy.

Lucy was employed at JB's Restaurant from 2000 to 2007, where she made lasting connections and shared her warmth with many. She had a passion for spending time with her husband Steve and her family, always creating treasured memories. Lucy enjoyed watching her favorite paranormal shows and took great joy in her time with her dog, Rudy.

A service to honor Lucy will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, located at 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Lucy will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.
