Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister age 82, passed on to her eternal reward on November 22, 2015 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Lucille was born October 22, 1933 in Espanola, NM, the daughter of Efren and Anita Vigil (Rodriguez) Salazar. Lucille grew up in California and exhibited special musical ability and talent as a vocalist. She was a chorister with Our Lady Queen of Angels High School in Los Angeles, performing on the Catholic Radio Hour and for dignitaries, one of which was the Papal Countess Doheny.  After graduating from high school in California, Lucille moved back to New Mexico with six of her siblings and raised them.  Lucille served in Catholic Christian organizations as a Catholic Daughter, Legion of Mary, Altar & Rosary Society and as a professed member of the Carmelite Third Order. Lucille was employed by the State of New Mexico having worked for the Secretary of State, the NM Legislature, State House of Representatives, Department of Gas & Income Tax Division, Office of the Governor, then later employed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos and at the University of New Mexico Department of Education in Albuquerque. For a period of time, Lucille lived in South America during her husband’s tenure with the U.S. State Department, otherwise, living most of her adult life in Santa Fe and in Albuquerque's north valley.  She was preceded in death by two sons; Michael P. Ortiz, M.D. and John M. Ortiz. Lucille is survived by four children; Frank Ortiz, III and wife Rose, Anne Ortiz, M.D. and husband James, Mark A. Ortiz and wife Yvonne, Linda Lashen and husband Woody, ten grandchildren; Claire, Therese, Elizabeth, Juan Carlos, Miguel, Daniel, Paul Michael, Reina, Mark and Irene and eleven great grandchildren; Catherine, Elise, Olivia, Amelia, Jakob, Laura, Jade, Joshua, Julius, Ariana and Denae. She is survived by three sisters; Elsie Sanchez, Vickie Moya and Edwina Romero. Visitation will be 3 pm - 5 pm Friday, November 27, 2015 at Daniels Family Funeral Services- 4310 Sara Road and Meadowlark Lane SE. A Rosary will be recited 7 pm Friday, November 27, 2015 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on 9502 4th Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 8 am Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on 4th and Alameda NW.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Paseo del Norte and Wyoming Blvd NE. Pallbearers are Woody Lashen, James Norton, Claire Ortiz Alecksen, Daniel Provencio, Ernie Rodriguez and Gary Moya.
