Lucy Mom"" Espalin

ESPALIN - Lucy Espalin, age 85, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, completed her journey on this earth Saturday, July 2, 2011. She was born in Bernalillo, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. Lucy loved all her family, especially her husband Quirino, which she always watched over. She enjoyed cooking for her family; and most of all she loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erminia and Abel Garcia; brother, Junior Garcia; and sister, Connie Gutierrez. Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Quirino Espalin; her sons, Abel and wife Anna and Larry and wife Virginia; five grandchildren, Abel, Jr. and wife Ramona, Stephanie and husband Johnny Ortega, Stacie, Isaac and Matthew Espalin; two great-grandchildren, Jalen and Emma Marie; her loving sister, Viola Pena and husband Fred; other relatives and friends. Lucy will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be today (Wednesday) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 Saint Joseph Ave., NW, off of Coors, across from St. Pius, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Espalin, Matthew Espalin, Abel Espalin, Jr., Justin Perea, Joseph Gutierrez and Joshua Perea.
