Blanchard, Lyle Dwayne Lyle Dwayne Blanchard was born December 14, 1929, Manhattan, Kansas to Clarence and Grace Evers Blanchard. In 1947 he graduated from Manhattan High School and was co-captain of the football team. Lyle joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 and served on two aircraft carriers during the Korean War. After his discharge, he enrolled at Kansas State University, graduating in 1957 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He then worked for Phillips Petroleum in Grants, NM. In 1959 he moved to Florida and there he met June Kucher Blanchard. They married at All Saints Episcopal Church, in Lakeland, FL on June 23, 1960. Lyle and June celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2010 with family and friends. Among the projects he worked on were those in Anchorage, AK; Stavanger, Norway; and Santa Barbara and San Francisco, CA. Lyle and his family moved back to Grants, NM in 1977 where they lived for three years. He retired while in Bartlesville, OK and he and June returned to New Mexico and settled in Albuquerque in 1989. He enjoyed golf, scoring two holes-in-one, and also skiing. He was an active member of St. Mark��?�s on the Mesa for many years and also a charter member of Christ the King Anglican Church. In addition, he was a dedicated volunteer of Presbyterian Hospital for 20 years. He also volunteered at St. Martin��?�s Men��?�s Day Shelter. He is survived by his wife June, two sons, William and wife Michelle, James and wife Diana, grandson Daniel, brother David, and several cousins. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 11th at 1:30 pm at Christ the King Anglican Church 5300 2nd Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
