Lynn K. Christensen

Lynn K. Christensen, 86, passed away on January 5, 2009 at his residence in Farmington. He was born October 15, 1922 in Sanford, Colorado to Roy and Rilla Christensen. Lynn graduated from Sanford Colorado High School and moved to New Mexico January 1954. In November 1955, he married his wife of 53 years, Belva Louise Jack, in Farmington. Lynn was a Carpenter's Mate in the U S Navy from June 6, 1943 to February 1, 1946 and achieved the rank of 3rd Class. He served in the South Pacific, Okinawa, Iwo Jima and Guam. He was awarded the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific 3 stars, Philippine Liberation. He was employed by Mayflower and received many safe driving awards with them. Lynn enjoyed backpacking, hiking, fishing, playing with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one son. He is survived by his wife, Belva, daughters Jeri Lynn DeLuzia and Patricia Jozette Lowderback and a brother, Don V. Christensen. Also surviving are six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Lynn is in the care of Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home 103 E.
