Madeline La Febre, age 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Des Moines, New Mexico to Alfred T. and Beatrice (Archuleta) Martinez, Madeline was the third of nine children.
Madeline met her husband, Ted La Febre, through her brother and the couple spent over 50-years together, welcoming 1 son and 3 daughters. A devoted mother and homemaker, Madeline spent her free-time running a small seamstress business. A woman of deep faith, Madeline was an active member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Albuquerque and imparted that faith in her children.
Madeline delighted in her 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ted La Febre, son Robert, great grandson Michael Giron and parents Alfred T. and Beatrice Martinez. She's survived by her daughters Barbara Fierro, Lisa Giron (Glenn) and Theresa Nicklay (Dennis).
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice de la Luz, especially Hillary Malu, Cheyanna Highelk and Dr. Joy Lovette, for their exceptional care, as well as Madeline's loving caregiver and friend Gertrude Tafoya.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, the Rosary will start at 11:00 am and it'll be followed by a Mass at 11:30 am.
