Mansur J. Ward, age 87, returned to his Heavenly Father on September 25, 2012, in Rio Rancho, NM, where he was living with his daughter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorna Colbert Ward; son, Richard Eugene Ward; and grandson, Daniel Terrell Ward (son of Mansur James Ward). He is survived by his twin brother, Ray Eugene (Shirley) Ward of Boulder City, NV; his son, Mansur James Ward, of Martinez, CA; his daughter, Wrae (Ronald) Miller of Rio Rancho, NM; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He and his twin brother were born August 25, 1925 in Whittier, CA to Charles Oliver and Lucy Patrick Ward. He was the last of 12 children born to his parents. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Josefa G. Franco Ward. He is survived by stepchildren Charlie (Nellie) Franco of Indio, CA; Ernie (Jeannine Franco, of Long Beach, CA; Alex (Michelle) Franco of Murrieta, CA; and Rachel (Gil) Marrujo, of Indio, CA. He considered his stepchildren as his own and thoroughly enjoyed them with the 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was inducted into the Army Air Corp in October 1943 and honorably discharged in May 1946. He retired from General Telephone (Verizon) after 36 years of service with them where he came up through the ranks, shared his humor and was a friend to all. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and dune buggies with his long time friends from Alta Loma, CA. He and Lorna built a house in San Felipe, Mexico where they enjoyed their retirement. He and Josie also enjoyed spending time there. Mansur was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Whittier, Upland and Indio, CA and in Rio Rancho, NM. His viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 81870 Avenue 48, Indio, CA 92201 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 with an additional viewing and funeral at the same location, Saturday, September 29, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Daniels Family Funeral Services
