Manuel V. Baca, age 78, passed away suddenly at Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, NM surrounded by his family and loved ones on Monday, August 12, 2024. Manuel was born on January 4, 1946, to the late Benito Baca and Virginia S. Baca. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Brother David Seiler, In-laws: Alberto and Onofre Romero, Della Romero, Felix Rael, Greg & Elsie Trujillo, Damian Trujillo, Delfie Sanchez, and special nephew Dennis Knight.

Manuel left behind his loving wife of 60 years Margie Baca of the family home; three sons and one daughter; Manuel Baca (Pinky), Edward Baca, Adrian Baca (Mellisa), LouElla Romero (Mario); grandchildren Lynette Baca-Williams (Kate), Larissa Campbell (Wayne), Kathleen Baca (Lawrence), EmmaRae Baca, Grace Baca, Elisha Baca, Vanessa Baca (Angel), Ricardo Baca, Malachi Baca, Dominic Romero, Derick Romero and Donovan Romero; great grand-children Annabella Pike, Evelyn Pike, John Campbell and Roman Baca-Williams. He is also survived by his siblings; Modesta Hickerson, Sarah Knight (Tim), Phil Seiler, Pita Gallegos, Sandra Seiler-Montano (Marvin); In-laws Lupe Rael, Rosita Trujillo, Albert Romero (Erlinda), Timia Gallegos (Mark), and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved and grew up with the Rimbert family and his cousin/partner of mischief Victor Romero, they were very close to his heart. 

Manuel excelled at anything and everything he did. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed drag racing, singing, plumbing, and building structures. He had a passion for restoring old cars, building engines, and building chassis. He loved & enjoyed Drag racing, especially his 1939 Chevy Coupe nicknamed the “Heatwave.” He loved to sing and play any instrument you could think of. Manuel was the founder of the band “The Blue Mist.” He was able to record and publish several albums and songs with his band. He enjoyed taking daily rides around town every morning and talking to everyone that was on his path. Manuel had an exciting time traveling with his family to different destinations. Even though he is gone he has left so many memories that everyone will forever remember him.

Rosary services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows - Tuesday August 27, 2024, at 7:00 pm with the Eulogy by Mario Romero. 

Funeral Mass: Wednesday August 28, 2024 at 9:00 am with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Sapello. 

His grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as Honorary Pallbearers.

Reception to follow burial.
