Manuel N. Rivera

Rivera, Manuel N. 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Valverde, NM on December 18, 1935 to Manuel Vicente and Fina (Jojola) Rivera. Manuel loved the outdoors, he especially loved to fish and hunt and he enjoyed gardening. Manuel loved and adored his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his brother, Robert Rivera, and his sister in law, Clara Rivera. Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Viola (Chavez) Rivera; his devoted children, Rosie Anaya and husband, Benny; Richard Rivera; and Evelyn Swalwello and husband, Matt; his brothers, Dan Rivera; and George Rivera Sr. and wife, Carmen; his sister, Elva Bencomo; his grandchildren, Steven Anaya; Manuel Anaya Sr.; Amber Rivera; and Samantha Anaya; his great grandchildren, Zachery; Dominic; Selena; Jerome; Jacob; Manuel Jr.; Andrian; Jeremiah; and Celob; and his God daughter, Geraldine Padilla, and many other loving family members. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 10:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the San Antonio Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steven Anaya, Mary Helen Garcia, George Rivera Sr., Bobby Chavez, Nestor Chavez, and George Rivera Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are Amber Rivera, Zachery Anaya, Jerome Anaya, and Manuel Anaya Jr.. Manuel's care has been entrusted to:
