Marcella Marie (Mills) Smith

ALBUQUERQUE – Marcella Marie (Mills) Smith, went to be with her lord and savior on May 20, 2018, punctuating a long, beautiful 86 year long life. Marcella was born March 6, 1932, in Lemmon, S.D., to Glenn E. and Elaine (Casady) Mills, attending school at Lolo Creek and in Missoula, Montana. While living most her life in New Mexico, her heart always stayed in Montana. She held many waitressing jobs including in her mother’s “Elaine’s Café” in Lolo. She relocated to New Mexico with her second husband, Smitty and became members the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She held many local and state offices for the Auxillary, lastly being Four Corner’s Regional President. She was extremely proud of her 35 year career as an income tax professional with H & R Block which included many years as office manager and as an instructor for new employees. After retirement she enjoyed her church and Sunday’s with her girlfriends playing table games. Her life was always brightened with music, and she listened to both kinds; country and western. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Spurgeon F. Smith, her parents, and brothers: Don Nesbitt, David Mills, Howard Mills, Robert (Bob) Mills, and Les Mills. She is survived by her children Helen and Don Steele, Fred and Denny Guenzler, Angie and Jim Whenry, Jerri and Eric Pohl, and Roger Smith, this also includes eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and lots of friends. Daniels Family Funeral Services attended to the cremation. Memorial services will be held at First Christian Church on June 4, 2018 and 2 o’clock pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donations to Crohns.org, as Marcella suffered for many years with this disease.
