Margaret N. Jones: 1949 - 2020
Margaret (Peggy) N. Jones was born in Clinton, Iowa on March 24, 1949
and died peacefuly at The University of New Mexico Medical Center in
Albuquerque on March 7th 2020. In attendance were her son, Stephen Scott
Jones and his father, Gregory Scott Jones. Both live in Aurora, Colorado.
Margaret is preceeded in death by her parents Audrey and Ed Muenz and
her three brothers Harry, Marty and Steve. She has a brother living in
Washington State and a sister living in Arkansas. Her grandaughter, Amy
Jones lives in Schöppenstedt, Germany. Margaret has several neices,
nephews and cousins still living in New Mexico.
Margaret moved to Boulder, Colorado from Albuquerque in 1967 where she
met and married Scott's father. She remained living in Colorado until 1981
when she returned to Albuquerque.
While in Denver, Margaret was active at Sherman Elementary School which
Scott attended and the West Washingtom Park neighborhood in which she,
Scott and Greg lived. When not pursuing her outside activities, Margaret
was a voracious reader. It was not unusual for her to read several books per
week in spite of having a visual impairment all of her life. She especially
loved mysteries and biographies.
When Margaret returned to New Mexico in 1981, she worked at Sperry
Rand with her mother Audrey and was a member of Moose Lodge. She later
worked at Colinas Village Care Center from which she retired. Margaret
continued her love for reading up to the time she was hospitalized with
severe respiratory distress at UNM Medical Center. Scott and Greg will
always remember her as a loving mother and homemaker. Peggy will be
greatly missed by all of us.
A celebration of life is planned for Margaret in Albuquerque, New Mexico
for early June 2020.
