Margaret Elizabeth Salazar

Margaret E. (Betty) Garcia Salazar, 85, passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2014 surrounded by her children.  Born December 7, 1929 to an Albuquerque land grant family, she was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel B. and Ella Weston Garcia, sisters Viola Quirk and Nancy Mooney. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, she graduated from Albuquerque High School and received her BS and MA from the University of New Mexico, teaching for Albuquerque Public Schools for twenty-five years.  She is survived by her children Barbara Kelly, James Salazar, his wife Barb, Carolyn Nibert, her husband Greg and Marilyn Coulson, her husband Cary, sister, Lilimarie Siddall, five grandchildren, Matt Salazar, Gregory Nibert, Coy Coulson, Jenna Coulson and Jeffrey Nibert, one great grandchild Lucis Salazar.  A celebratory mass will be held at a later date.  To share memories with the family please visit Margaret's memorial webpage at www.danielsfuneral.com.
