Margaret Joyce Scherr

Scherr, Margaret Joyce Age 77, a resident of Rio Rancho for the last 18 years, passed away March 4, 2014. She was born in Timber Lake, SD on November 13, 1937 to Jacob and Nettie Scherr. Joyce attended a country school until the 8th grade and then graduated from Timber Lake High School as the valedictorian. She then attended business school for nine months and went to work for the Department of Health, Education & Welfare. She began her career in Pierre, SD and then moved to Chamberlain, SD. She transferred to Albuquerque after that and then moved to Washington D.C. where she retired after a 40 year career. When she wasn't working she loved to travel both here in the states and abroad. Margaret is survived by her five siblings, Mary Alice Salisbury of South Sioux City, NE, Joe Scherr of Gillette, WY, Clara Ann Herman of Timber Lake, SD, Jacob Scherr of Gillette, WY and Irvin Scherr of Sioux Falls, SD. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, March 17, 2014, 1:00 pm at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM.
