Margaret Torres

Margaret Torres, age 81 passed away August 9, 2021 at 4:20 p.m. surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on February 19, 1940 to Frank and Crecencia Lencha Gonzales in Socorro NM and was the oldest of 6 siblings.  Margaret married her neighbor and friend Felix Torres Jr, love of her life, on October 15, 1960 in Socorro, NM.  Felix and Margaret’s marriage turned into 60 years, 9 months, 3 weeks, 4 days of marriage and two wonderful children, four wonderful grandchildren and four beautiful Great-Granddaughters. 

She lived her life for her kids, grandchildren, and great granddaughters to the fullest.  You would always find her in the kitchen cooking the best home-made food or making blankets for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or her Godchildren.  Her favorite past time was watching the Novellas on TV.  Margaret was a lead lady and supervisor for 17 years at Eagle Pitcher. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her father Frank Torres and her mother Crecencia Lencha Gonzales Torres, a brother Manuel Torres.  Margaret is survived by her loving husband Felix Torres Jr., her children, Felix Torres III, Tanya Rebecca Torres; four grandchildren Alysia Marie Torres, Darrien Justine Torres, Gabriel Felix Torres, and Sheldon Kyle George Gonzales and Great-Granddaughters Ava Robert Ortiz, Amelia Dyonne Ortiz, Aria Margaret Ortiz, and Alaia Lynn Margaret Hooper, her sisters Jackie and Marian, her brothers Frank and his wife Coreen and Michael. 

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Felix Torres and Sheldon Kyle George Gonzales. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 9:30 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church with burial to follow.  Margaret’s care has been entrusted to Daniels Family Funeral Services, 309 Garfield Street, Socorro, NM
