Margaret Vassaw

VASSAW- Margaret Vassaw, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend was called home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2011. Margaret was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Michael and Susan Bigar on August 28, 1923. Margaret moved to Albuquerque, NM in July of 1953, and has been a resident since. She attended Calvary Church for over 20 years and she never meet a stranger in her life. She was a loving wife and mother, and loved her family.

Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Vassaw Sr. She is survived by her children, John Vassaw and wife Joanne, Carol Shafer and husband Jerry, Ruth Vassaw, Ernest Vassaw Jr. and Mary Howard and husband Bill, grandchildren Sheryl Harrell and husband Benjamin, Steve Vassaw, Tonya Perea and husband Daniel, Vincenza Pearson and husband Donnie, Christopher Howell and Damiano Vassaw, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving sister Pauline Bigar. Margaret will be missed by her loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Sara Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Sara Road Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM, followed by Entombment at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, NM. A Reception will follow at Calvary Chapel, in the Hub, 4001 Osuna Road NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
