It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margarito Sedillo, age 90, of Placitas, New Mexico, who was called to be with the Lord on November 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born to Melcadis and Manuelita Sedillo in Estancia, NM, Margarito was raised by Eutimio and Monica Brito in Albuquerque, NM. He lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Margarito dedicated many years of his life to his career at A.P.S., retiring in 1991. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, who cherished his family above all else.
Margarito was married to his beloved wife, Angelina Sedillo, for 70 years, a partnership founded on love, respect, and devotion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angelina; children, Ernest Sedillo (Martha), Lorraine Martinez (Adolfo), Michael Sedillo (Elizabeth), and William Sedillo (Georgina); grandchildren, Michelle Wright (Corey), Christie Rodriguez (Digno), Ernest Sedillo Jr. (Melanie), Stacy Martinez, Amanda Longley (Cody), Erica Sedillo, Steven Sedillo (Tina), and Daniel Sedillo (Audriana); great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wright, Michael Wright, Jazmine Rodriguez, Jeremy Miller, Asher Sedillo, Ezraya Goad, Remington Longley, Winston Longley, Mariah Sedillo, Kevin Sedillo, Davin Sedillo, Aubriana Sedillo, and Caleb Sedillo; sisters, Rita Sedillo and Crestella Ellis.
Margarito was preceded in death by his parents, Melcadis and Manuelita Sedillo and Eutimio and Monica Brito, and his siblings Pablo Sedillo, Benny Sedillo, Carpio Sedillo, and Frances Gutierrez.
Margarito’s legacy of love and faith will continue through his family, who take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with our Lord. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Bosque Trails Hospice and Angels Above Home Care for the compassionate care they provided to Margarito.
A Rosary will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 26th, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at San Antonio Mission Catholic Church, 47 Paseo De San Antonio, Placitas, NM. Burial following at Placitas Catholic Cemetery.
May Margarito rest in the peace of Christ, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
