Maria Tonie"" Harkness

HARKNESS - Maria "Tonie" Antonia Harkness, age 93, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was born on June 13, 1916 in Nambe, NM and was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Harkness; a son, Willie Romero and a granddaughter, Audrey Martinez; brothers, Benancio Garduno and his wife Estefanita, Vianes Garduno, one sister, Ida Romero and husband Secundino, son-in-law, Toby Martinez. Ms. Harkness is survived by her loving daughter, Virginia Martinez; five grandchildren, Elmo Martinez, Luana Martinez, Brenda, Charline and Michael Romero; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her loving sisters, Domitilia Chavez and her husband Pascual, Idalia Espinoza, Uitalia Garduno-Baker; one brother, Bernabe Garduno; sister-in-laws, Janice Garduno, Stella Garduno; and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Ms. Harkness will be greatly missed by all. Casket Bearers will be Michael Romero, Gene Chavez, Ricky Garduno, Tony Garduno, Brian Drier and Manuel Garduno. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Harold Romero and Manuel Garcia.
