Harper, Maria
Age 77, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 in Socorro, New Mexico. Maria was born in Ranchos de Santiago, Mexico to Agustin Solis and Francisca Ordonez, on October 1, 1941. Deaf at birth, she remained at the ranch in Mexico until 1974 when she met her true love, Charles. Once in the United States, they wed and lived happily together on a racehorse farm in Ruidoso, NM for 15 years where their 2 daughters were born. In 1990, they moved to Navajo Dam and she became an avid fisherwoman alongside her husband. After their daughters graduated, she and her husband moved to Roswell to start up another horse farm. In 2017, she and her husband moved to Socorro to live with their eldest daughter. She loved the outdoors, her home, grandchildren, dogs, and horses. She took great joy and pride in gardening, sewing, fishing, and cooking for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters. Maria is survived by her husband, Charles; her two daughters, Mariana and Karla Harper; and her three grandchildren, Cheyenne Harper, Navy Johnson, and Eath Johnson. There will be no services held for Maria at this time.
