Maria R. "Gini" Leyva

Leyva, Maria Regina "Gini" "Gini", to those who loved her, was 59 when she passed away on January 6th, 2014. Originally from New York, she built a family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a fiercely loyal friend and a passionate lover of music (she had a big, beautiful voice), poetry, dancing, and the arts. She goes forward to meet her father, Edmond A. Huertas; mother, Antonia Vergara Cruz; brother, Edmond A. Huertas II. Her spirit and love will continue in the lives of her husband, Lorenzo Leyva; her sons, Christopher Leyva, (Rachael Riggs Leyva), and Jason Leyva, (Lydia Specht); her grandsons, Ari and Jack; her sister, Rosario F. Huertas, (Angel Torres); brothers, Justin-Guy Huertas, Phillip S. Huertas, (Naideen Huertas), David J. Huertas, (Debbie Huertas), Allen G. Huertas, (Annette Huertas), and Lawrence T. Huertas, (Ruth H�rnandez); numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 24, 2014 at Soul Rio Church, 2003 Southern Boulevard SE, #130, Rio Rancho, NM. A reception will follow the services at the church. Inurnment will follow at 2:15 pm, Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM.
