Maria A. Padilla

Padilla, Maria A. Age 86, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 in Socorro, NM. She was born in San Pedro, NM on January 27, 1928, to Abel and Angela Salgado Arvizu. Maria was a very devoted to her family and strong in her faith. She grew up and attended school in San Pedro and has lived around this area all of her life. Maria enjoyed crafts and especially crocheting. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino Padilla; her parents; her son, Daniel Padilla; sisters, Angela Naranjo, Rosario Arvizu, Luz Padilla, Lupe Salazar, Gregoria Arvizu and Helen Arvizu; brothers, Manuel, Luis, Juan, Abel and Jose Arvizu. Maria is survived by son, Samuel Padilla and wife Isabel, and Andrew Padilla; grandchildren, Sammy Padilla Jr., Anthony Padilla, Michelle Paz and husband, Adam, Daniel Padilla Jr., Norma Jean Padilla, Andrew Padilla Jr., Vanessa Archuleta and husband, Larry, and Sabrina Sanchez and husband, Carlos; great grandchildren, Adam Jr., Marina, Gabriele, and Camren Paz, Sammy III, Levina, Dandre, Evangeline, Anthony Jr., Dion, Jonathan, Daniel III, Gavon, Neveah, Paige, Elric, and Shanley Padilla, and Crishana Sisneros; step grandchildren, Joseph Torres, Darlene Wilkinson, Arlene Rosas and Kenny Torres. Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro. Rosary to be recited on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 am. Celebrant Father Flavio Santillanes. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following service. Pallbearers are Adam "AJ" Paz Jr., Daniel Padilla Jr. Andrew Padilla Jr., Luis Arvizu, Eppie Arvizu and Sammy Padilla Jr. A reception will be held at Sofia's Kitchen, 105 Bullock, Socorro immediately following the graveside services.
