Maria Paz

Paz, Maria (Leal) 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 24, 2011. She was born in Gonzales, TX on February 14, 1926, to Lucio and Peme�?±ia Leal. Maria was a resident of Socorro for about 52 years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and was a devoted member of the San Miguel Catholic Church. Maria was a caring and loving foster grandparent. She was a member of a group which was part of the Socorro Senior Center that aided elderly ladies. She enjoyed helping others. She was a faithful member of the Legion of Mary and volunteered at the Head Start and Aim High here in Socorro. Maria was preceded in death by her parents; Lucio and Peme�?±ia Leal; her beloved husband, Juan Paz Sr., and her son, Juan Paz Jr. Maria is survived by her daughter, Gloria Vaiza and husband, Ray Sr; her sons, Jimmy Santiago Paz; Alejandro Paz; Lucio Paz and wife Rita; Guadalupe Paz and partner, Evangeline Soto; and Armando Paz and wife, Marsha; 23 loving grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three brothers. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 30, 2011, at 8:30 AM at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, followed by A Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 9:00 AM with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Vaiza Jr., Valentin Paz, Ray Vaiza III, Daniel Vaiza, Jimmy Paz, and Alex Paz. Maria's care has been entrusted to:
