Sisneros, Maria Emena Christina
Age 71, passed away peacefully Friday, April 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Socorro, NM on July 4, 1945 to Vicente and Anna Maria Olguin Torres. Maria graduated from Socorro High School. She dedicated her time to raising her children at home and became a teacher's aide as they reached school age. She later moved to Santa Rosa where she resided for some 20 years. She then relocated to Los Lunas but eventually found her way back home in Socorro to be closer to her family. Maria ran the Curves in Los Lunas and then the Socorro location after settling back home. Maria was strong in her faith. She was very devoted to the Catholic Church and was a member of the church choir. She also enjoyed gardening. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Vega; sisters, Catalina Baca, Rita Montoya and Virginia Peralta and brothers, Lucas Torres, Felix Torres and Leopold Torres. Maria is survived by her devoted children, Manuel (Pam) Vega and Rebecca Vega; brothers, Tommy (Alvie) Torres, Joe (Rosalie) Torres, Vicente (Agnes) Torres, Eddie (Carol) Torres; sister, Elaine (Phil) Valdez; grandchildren, Holly Vega, Christopher Hobough, Manuel Vega, Jr., Sammie (Jake) Finch, Vicente Vega, Angelica Vega and Giovanna Rosas and 8 great-grandchildren. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with Mass of Resurrection to follow at 9:00 am. Celebrant Father John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery  following service.
