Maria Soledad Martinez, Shirley Salinas
Age 79, was born on November 29, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM. She passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015.  Shirley's life was devoted to raising her family and always leaving a door open for those in need.  Her enduring faith guided her through life and provided her with an unending determination and strength.  Shirley loved the outdoors and found peace in meditation and prayer.  Her passions included playing the piano and guitar, dancing with Ballet Folklorico de Miguel Caro and singing with the Catholic Church.  Shirley will forever be remembered for her huge heart, unique sense of humor and spirited nature.  Shirley was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Jesus Martinez and Angela Roman Martinez; brothers, James, Jesse and Robert Martinez; brother-in-laws, James Malcolmson II and Donald Lutton. She is survived by her children Carl and Christopher Lujan, Elizabeth Lujan-Grace, Stephanie Frederick and Nicole Salinas; daughter-in-law, Julie Lujan; son-in-law, David Frederick; grand children Monica and Ryan Lujan-Grace and his wife Hilary, Taylor Frederick, Jeremy Dumont, Tara Watson and husband Wesley; great-grandchildren Riley and Thomas Grace and Joel, Brody and Kaylin Watson; twelve of her sixteen siblings and their spouses, Maria Martinez, Emma Lutton, Sophie and Gene McGough, Mellie Malcolmson, Angela Romero, Inez and Charles Benson, Rosie and Lewis Campbell, Laura Martinez, Margaret and Sasha Siemel, Antonio Martinez, Frank and Linda Martinez, Alicia and Jim Barber and their children. Shirley loved her nieces and nephews with all of her heart. We celebrate Shirley's life. She is greatly missed by all, and will be forever loved. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 am and a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 am on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM.  Inurnment will follow the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM.
