Maria Encarnacion Suarez

Maria “Mari” Suarez, 80, departed to be with the angels in heaven on October 24, 2024. Mari was born Maria de la Encarnacion Palacio Santiago in Madrid, Spain on April 12,1944 to Manolo and Encarnacion Palacio from Sevilla, Spain and was the third of four daughters (Aurora, Maite, and Rosario). Mari met Israel Suarez, who was stationed at Torrejon Air Force Base, Madrid, Spain at a local dance hall. Mari and Israel fell in love and married on June 3, 1961.

Mari’s talents were many. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress, loved to sew and knit for her family and especially her grandchildren. Mari was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who loved to entertain and cook fabulous Spanish and American classics.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Israel Suarez of 63 years, her three daughters Bettina Suarez of Kansas City, MO, Marinela (Mark) Parks of Olathe, KS, and Annabel (Adam) Roberts of Albuquerque, NM. She was most proud of her grandchildren, Nicholas (Teresa) Roskosh and Michael (Katie) Roskosh, Andrew Mermer, Jack and Kaiti Parks, and Lucas and Jacob Roberts, as well as her great-granddaughters Addison, Londyn, Annalise and Olivia.

A Rosary Prayer service will be held at Daniel’s Family Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 on Saturday, November 9th at 10am followed by the family visiting with friends.

Funeral Mass Service on Monday, November 11th at 10am at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

Private family inurnment Alcala de Henares, Madrid, Spain December 2024.
