Marie C. Johnston

JOHNSTON - Marie C. passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2009 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Marie was born August 9, 1921 in Roy, NM and resided in Albuquerque, NM most of her life. She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years Neil Johnston, son Robert Johnston and daughter Mildred Marie McMullen both of Albuquerque, sister Helen Mayda also of Alb., and many loving nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Addie Maib Crites and John Crites, brothers Jack and Jessie Crites, and sisters Bessie Farley and Coral Sheffield. She was an active member of the three churches she attended most of her life: Grace Church, Fellowship Bible Church, and Highland Baptist Church. Cremation will take place, and private internment will be at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Services are pending. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for their excellent care of Marie and display of kindness toward the family.
