A resident of Albuquerque, NM and previously Moriarty, NM, passed away on January 28, 2016 at the age of 48, surrounded by family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her twin sister, Carolyn Konz and her partner Joan Wittig; her children, David Smith, Kevin Smith and his fiancé Heather, Robert Kelley and his girlfriend Dominique, and Amanda Emerson; her grandchildren, Hailey Rose and Lacee Mae Smith; her niece, Shawna Tillberg; her father and mother in law , Leroy and Pauline Vargas; her nephew, Matthew Shanklin and her soul mate, Greg Scharrer. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Owen and Manuelita "Cookie" Konz.
Marilyn was born in Albuquerque, NM on October 10, 1967 to Owen and Cookie Konz. She graduated from Moriarty High School class of 1985. Marilyn later graduated from the Central New Mexico University with a degree in paralegal studies. Marilyn worked as a Court Clerk Manager at Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court.
Marilyn was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She enjoyed playing pool, writing poems and spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on February 2, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, followed by a Rosary starting at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on February 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Risen Savior Catholic Community Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
Interment to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens with a Reception following at the family home.
