OCTOBER GARDEN
The garden seems forsaken, now
Transformed by chill October's vow
Of season's passing. Dark clouds fly
Where tangled vestiges belie
Late blooms, the Gardener's head is bowed.
The harvest made life's purpose know
In wondrous charity unshown
To earthbound hearts. October's rest
Rejoins companion prior blessed
With welcome in the Gardener's home.
So sleep October garden, where
Youth blossomed into fullness barely
Yesterday. But from dreaming rise
Up in flowered fields to thrive
Forever in the Gardener's care.
