Marjorie C. O'Connell

 Marjorie C. O'Connell, age 79, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was born in Portales, NM on October 1, 1941, to Woodrow and Cora (Lock) Clifton. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Lock Clifton; father, Woodrow Clifton; and daughter, Kim Marquis.

Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband, Rick Marquis of Corrales, NM; daughter, Sharla Balestri of Corrales, NM; son, David Marquis of Denver, CO; cousin, Carolyn of Portales, NM.

Marjorie grew up in Portales, NM and was a graduate of Portales High School. After high school she went on to attend ENMU and obtain her Masters degree in 1965. Marjorie went on to teach school for 35 years until her retirement, inspiring and impacting the lives of many children along the way.  

Marjorie was a skilled seamstress and was a member of the Bernina Sewing Club. Marjorie was a very private person, she insisted on her life being private and chose the same for her death. Her wish!
