Marjorie Jeanette Wallace

September 13, 1921 — August 13, 2021

Marjorie Jeanette Wallace passed peacefully on August 13th, 2021. She was born to Richard Wallace Daniels and Gertrude Jeanette Purdy in Waltham, Massachusetts, where she lived in the family home alongside the bank of the Charles River. Her father was a pharmacist, while her mother managed the home, and worked as a hat designer. She grew up alongside her extended family and had a normal and happy childhood, having especially fond memories visiting her grandparents farm in the summers.

In March of 1943, much to her parent’s horror, Marjorie went to the Boston Recruiting Office and joined the Women’s Air Corp. She did basic training in Fort Lauderdale, before attending classes all day at Adam School State College. After college she was assigned to the finance department of the US army, working as secretary to Col. TKO, and continued working for him until the end of World War two. Never regretting her time in the service, and her small contributions to the war effort. She made many good friends during this time, and always kept in touch. After the war she married her husband, John, in 1945, and they returned to Waltham where she worked Raytheon in the Government Contracts department.

Marjorie moved to New Mexico after living alone for 26 years after her husband passed. Deciding to move into Brookdale retirement facility. She enjoyed her time there, and never regretted moving to Albuquerque.
